Registrations and submissions are now being accepted for the KOKUYO DESIGN AWARD 2022 contest.

This year’s theme is “UNLEARNING”. The target designs that we want to receive are for “stationery, furniture and all items generally used in working, learning and living scenes”. With the pandemic making latent issues in society more manifest, the theme is about resetting the knowledge and senses we’ve never questioned before and the experiences we’ve accumulated up to now, and exploring what designs can be created by imagining ideal futures for each of us.
Here are messages from the judges regarding this year's theme. Please take a look.

The three criteria for judging the entries are whether they “propose new value”, “The design’s level of completion” and have the “feasibility of commercialization”.
The entries will be comprehensively evaluated in terms of the following: being in keeping with this year’s theme of “UNLEARNING”, proposing a product design with a high level of completion, and showing that feasibility of commercialization has been properly considered.

There will be five people judging: Satoshi Yoshiizumi from TAKT PROJECT Inc. will be a new judge joining Masashi Kawamura, Tsuyoshi Tane, Teruhiro Yanagihara, and Hidekuni Kuroda (KOKUYO Co., Ltd. President and CEO), who will all be continuing from last year.

We are looking forward to seeing what kinds of designs we get this year. The deadline for entries and design submissions is 12:00 noon (Japan Standard Time) on Friday, October 15. We are eagerly awaiting your designs.
