ORGANIZATIONAL FRAMEWORK FOR SUSTAINABILITY
Organizational framework for sustainability, decision-making process
Our framework for sustainability includes the Sustainability Committee. This committee deliberates on our overall sustainability strategy, how to address the material issues, and how to generate positive social impacts.
The committee is chaired by the person who is Director, Representative Corporate Officer, President and CEO. Its secretariat is headed by the managing officer in charge of sustainability and its membership comprises every corporate officers and managing officer. The committee consists of four subcommittees, each of which examines a particular area of sustainability and reports its findings to the main committee. The subcommittees are the Environment Subcommittee, Wellbeing Subcommittee, Procurement Subcommittee, and Forest Model Subcommittee.
The committee regularly reports to and advises the Board of Directors regarding the sustainability-related matters (risks, opportunities, strategies, and goals) it has discussed (or that any of the four subcommittees has discussed) in order to obtain the necessary board approval and facilitate supervision.
In this way, the committee structure facilitates action on sustainability with a view to sustaining value creation.
