Message from the CEO

KOKUYO was founded in Osaka in 1905 as a small workshop crafting covers for account ledgers. For over a century, we have continued to create products and services that support how people work, learn, and live—from developing stationery and office furniture to designing entire office environments.

Throughout this long history, global values have shifted dramatically. We, too, have constantly asked ourselves, "Is this the best we can be?" as we re-examined our identity and our role as a company.

This journey led us to our vision for an ideal future: a society where every individual can shine in their own unique way, while respecting and cooperating with one another. We call this a self-directed, collaborative society. By delivering experience value that truly moves the hearts of our customers, we are striving to make this vision a reality.

However, as we witness the limits of capitalism and an increasingly divided international community, the world is facing a difficult turning point where individual self-direction and collective collaboration are often seen as conflicting. Through our corporate and business activities, we feel a deep, passionate drive to contribute—in any way we can—to breaking through these barriers.

As we mark our 120th anniversary, we have captured this passion in our corporate message: "Curiosity is Life."

The desire to learn something new, or the urge to try something different—we believe that such curiosity is what enriches life. At KOKUYO, we aspire to stay close to each person's positive energy and be the one to give them that gentle push forward.
