Co-created with Global Interior Design Firm Studio O+A
KOKUYO CO., LTD. (Head Office: Osaka, Japan; President: Hidekuni Kuroda) announces that it has moved its new head office "KOKUYO HQ" to Grand Green Osaka on May 1, 2026, after 90 years of operation. It will hold its grand opening as a live office on June 16, 2026.
KOKUYO has long provided new workstyles by designing the space of the office and the experiences born within it. At "THE CAMPUS," KOKUYO's Tokyo Shinagawa office that underwent a major renovation in 2021, KOKUYO has intentionally created spaces and experiences where society and companies organically intersect, based on the concept of "opening up to the city." These efforts led to the organic emergence of diverse and unique forms of collaboration, and over the course of five years, employee engagement scores at the Tokyo Shinagawa office rose by 11 points (*1).
KOKUYO has utilized the experience and results cultivated through THE CAMPUS to build its new head office, KOKUYO HQ, in Osaka. It will serve as an open experimental space welcoming not only to employees but also to corporate customers and partner companies. KOKUYO HQ's grand opening will be held on June 16, 2026. Serving as KOKUYO's global headquarters, KOKUYO HQ is built on the concept of "Pioneering the Unknown." It marks a step forward in reforming the company's management foundation to accelerate global growth and contribute to the Kansai economic region.

(*1) Survey conducted using the team experience platform Wevox. The engagement score in the "Culture of Taking on Challenges" category for employees working at the Tokyo Shinagawa office (March 2021 to March 2026) rose by 11 points, from 63 points in 2021 to 74 points in April 2026. This represents a significant increase compared to other locations in Japan.
1. Objectives of Head Office Relocation
(1) Reforming the management foundation
KOKUYO is strengthening its management foundation as part of its fourth medium-term plan with the goal of achieving 500 billion yen in net sales by 2030.
Strengthening internal controls and enhancing corporate functions to global standards are critical for accelerating growth amid highly uncertain social conditions. However, the corporate departments based at the former head office were divided across multiple floors by function and were located in a separate building from the business departments, creating a sense of physical and mental separation.
This head office relocation has brought corporate functions and businesses together on a single floor at the same location, physically eliminating this separation through a design that naturally fosters interaction. In addition, by creating experiences designed to intentionally encourage interaction, the company will foster cross-departmental connections and an open, communicative environment, thereby updating its management foundation to lead business growth.
(2) Contributing to the Kansai economic region
KOKUYO began in Osaka in 1905 by manufacturing covers for Japanese-style account ledgers. Since then, the company has expanded its business over the past 120 years to become a provider of solutions for working, learning, and living in Japan and around the world.
Grand Green Osaka, the home of KOKUYO's new head office, is a mixed-use facility directly connected to JR Osaka Station that features one of the world's largest urban parks. Based in this rapidly redeveloping area where many companies are gathering, KOKUYO will work with a diverse range of businesses to foster even more innovation aimed at solving social issues through solutions for office spaces and the planning of networking events.
2. Spatial Design of KOKUYO HQ
The design partner for this project is Studio O+A, an interior design firm based in the U.S.
The design concept "Promenade of Discovery" was born from the synergy between KOKUYO, which possesses expertise in workstyle solutions for Japanese offices, and Studio O+A, a firm specializing in office design and consulting for global companies with strengths in storytelling and design. Studio O+A's perspective has helped rediscover the essence of KOKUYO, which is expressed through the space's story, art, and exhibits.
True to the "Promenade of Discovery" concept, visitors can explore areas that foster diverse office experiences, such as lively areas, quiet spaces for contemplation, and zones that evoke a feeling of nature, with the same sense of discovery as strolling through a city.
(1) Gateway
This space, where customers are first greeted, is positioned not merely as a reception area, but as a place to build new relationships between people and companies. Along the path leading to the reception area lies a gallery showcasing the current state of KOKUYO and an exhibition tracing 120 years of curiosity. This area serves as the first step in building rapport with customers.

(2) Parkside
Designed to accommodate employees' diverse lifestyles, this space enables them to maintain their physical and mental well-being while delivering consistent performance. It encourages experiences beyond work through the "Wellness room," where employees can also spend time with non-work contacts such as family and friends in addition to internal meetings, as well as the "Townhall," a large event area that serves as a venue for interaction and learning both within and outside the company.

(3) Treehouse
This in-office retreat space allows employees to step away from the bustling live office environment and immerse themselves in input and deep thinking within a quiet, serene setting. Phone calls, web meetings, and collaborative conversations are deliberately prohibited here, intentionally separating employees from the office hustle and bustle to promote concentration and relaxation.

(4) Marketplace
This space is a hub for diverse experiences. It serves as a spacious in-house café and a multipurpose area capable of hosting solo work, meetings, and events for up to 100 people using a 150-inch large screen. It also features a griddle to encourage social interaction through food, such as making okonomiyaki.

3. Initiatives to Foster Connections
(1) Designing internal interaction
The first three months after the head office relocation will be designated as focus months for intentionally fostering interaction, with plans for an in-house bar and family events. After that, the company will continue to support events and communities organized independently by individual employees.
(2) Planning public events
KOKUYO plans to co-host CULTURE SNACK, a large-scale cultural festival where the hidden sides of the city and its people come together, together with Grand Green Osaka in October 2026 as a public event involving neighboring companies and the local community.
CULTURE SNACK is an event where the culture of the city is created by the people involved with it and enjoyed as casually as a snack. It was held in the Konan area, centered around THE CAMPUS, in 2024 and 2025, attracting a total of approximately 6,000 visitors and generating a tremendous response.

(3) Evolving workstyles through AI agents
KOKUYO is currently conducting internal testing of Office OS, an AI platform designed to support the next generation of workstyles. Office OS is an AI agent jointly developed by KOKUYO and TIGEREYE Inc., centered around OFFICE AGENTIC AI, a technology for which a joint patent application is pending.
Office OS aims to integrate previously fragmented systems related to office and business operations, such as meeting room reservations and equipment rental management, to provide a one-stop solution for office-related issues. It also aims to enhance convenience over time as employees use it by learning individual behavior patterns.
KOKUYO aims to build a platform where AI understands the behavior, emotions, and objectives of each individual employee, thereby evolving the very nature of work.
